The Environmental Art Project presented by Mundaring Arts Centre Inc. provides an annual opportunity for primary school children to creatively engage with local and global environmental issues, whilst developing their own positive message about protecting the earth.
The theme of the 2022 Environmental Art Project, Backyard Biodiversity, challenges teachers, students and parents to look closely at nature and discover, observe and monitor the animals that live in our local area.
In its 21st year, this year over 1,900 entries were received from 22 schools around Perth.
Ten entries below have been selected to be transformed into a walking trail in Weeip Park from Wednesday 30 November 2022 until mid 2023.
The original artworks are also on display at Midland Junction Arts Centre until 11 December.
In addition, sixteen entries have been selected to be transformed into banners for display in the Mundaring Rose Gardens from Thursday 8 December 2022 until late 2023. The original artworks are also on display at Mundaring Arts Centre until 11 December.
Wednesday 20 November is launch day at the Midland Junction Arts Centre – visit https://www.enviroartproject.com.au/ for more details about this creative project, with access to the 2022 Environmental Education Pack and video tutorials.
